Hackney Town Hall Wedding Photographer | Ella & Sam | Dale Weeks
I’m Dale, a documentary wedding photographer based in East Sussex. Ella and Sam’s day started at the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green, moved to a Hackney Town Hall ceremony, and ended in the basement of Coin Laundry in Exmouth Market, under disco balls and neon. Nothing about it went exactly to plan, and it was better for it.
No stiff poses, no awkward lineups. The groomsmen on the stairs, the bride quietly in her room, confetti on the Town Hall steps, a taxi when the bus didn’t show: all of it documented as it happened.
Getting Ready at the Town Hall Hotel
The Town Hall Hotel has a staircase that photographs beautifully, and the groomsmen made good use of it. Upstairs, the bride took a quiet moment in her room before the day got loud.

Hackney Town Hall and a Quick Confetti Shot
A short hop to Hackney Town Hall for the ceremony, then straight outside for a quick confetti shot on the steps, with the city carrying on around us.

When the Bus Didn’t Show
The bus that was meant to take everyone across the city didn’t turn up, so it was into a taxi instead. Once we arrived, we made the most of the street with a walk up and down for portraits, with everyone relaxed and in good spirits.

The Coin Laundry Basement
After dinner upstairs, the party moved down to Coin Laundry’s basement: disco balls, neon, and a dance floor that filled up fast. It’s one of the best small party rooms in London.
