Mandy and Tom’s story started nine years ago when they met at their first jobs in London. Their wedding day at Upwaltham Barns was all about keeping things relaxed, personal, and fun. After a ceremony at their local village church, they arrived at the barns in vintage coaches, greeted by friends and family ready to celebrate.
The couple kept their priorities simple: good food and drink, a brilliant band, and relaxed photography to capture it all. Guests enjoyed drinks in the courtyard gardens before heading into the barn for speeches, dinner, and dancing. It was the kind of wedding that felt more like a big family party than a formal event — exactly what they wanted.
Personal Touches & Meaningful Details
With family travelling from abroad, Mandy and Tom wove in little details to make the day personal. Mandy’s heritage — half Swiss, half Korean — was celebrated with unique touches: shots of Swiss herb liquor during the speeches, hand-painted Korean chopsticks as wedding favours, and white rose boutonnières as a nod to their beloved dog, Rosie.
Even the music reflected their personalities. Their first dance wasn’t a formal slow sway — instead, they kicked off the evening with an Arctic Monkeys cover that got everyone onto the floor. From there, the night was a mix of indie favourites and singalong classics, keeping the dance floor full.
