The Bell in Ticehurst Wedding Photographer | Maya & Lukas | Dale Weeks
Maya got ready with her mum, a few minutes up the road from the venue – no big travel, no morning stress, just family in and out of the room while she got dressed. By one o’clock everyone had made their way to The Bell for the ceremony.
I’m Dale, a documentary wedding photographer based in East Sussex. I don’t spend the day arranging people or working through a shot list. Maya and Lukas’s wedding was about as relaxed as they come — friends and family who were properly there to enjoy themselves, not perform for a camera, which made it an easy one to photograph.
Getting Ready Up the Road
Maya booked an airbnb up the road, close enough that there was no car journey to think about – just a short walk down to The Bell once everyone was ready. That kind of proximity changes the shape of a morning. No rushing, no watching the clock, just family drifting in and out while Maya got dressed.

The Ceremony and Confetti on the Stable
Ceremony at one o’clock, in The Bell itself. Afterwards, the confetti moment everyone does here — walking the red carpet over the Stable table while guests lined up either side. It’s a Bell tradition for a reason: it works every time.

Friends, Family, and a Genuinely Happy Room
What stood out about this one was how comfortable everyone was. Lots of friends and family, all properly enjoying themselves rather than watching the day happen — and a group of guests who were completely relaxed having a camera around them. That’s the kind of day that’s easy to disappear into and just document as it happens.
