Stylish Summer Wedding at The Bell in Ticehurst

Stylish Summer Wedding at The Bell in Ticehurst

Nick & Gemma’s summer wedding at The Bell in Ticehurst was everything this East Sussex pub does best: relaxed, stylish, and full of life. From a warm ceremony to garden celebrations under the sun, the day showed just how versatile and welcoming The Bell is as a wedding venue.

Getting Ready at The Bell in Ticehurst – The Hush of the Trees Room

Gemma spent the morning in The Hush of the Trees room, one of The Bell’s most beautiful spaces for bridal prep. Flooded with natural light and filled with artistic details, it set the tone perfectly. She worked with Harriet Rainbow, a talented makeup artist known for bold yet natural wedding looks. The atmosphere was calm, joyful, and full of anticipation as close friends joined in the prep.

Summer Garden Wedding Vibes

After the ceremony, the party spilled outside into The Bell’s gardens — a space made for relaxed summer weddings. Guests enjoyed drinks under festoon lights, the couple laughed with friends among the trees, and everywhere you turned there was colour, conversation, and energy. It’s these moments, in-between the official events, that really show what The Bell does best: creating a backdrop where guests can truly relax and celebrate.

Dancing on the LOVE Nest

One of the standout memories from Nick and Gemma’s day was the moment they all started dancing out in the garden. The bridal party climbed up onto the famous LOVE Nest for a playful, high-energy dance. It’s one of those iconic Bell backdrops, and their laughter and spontaneity made it unforgettable. Pure fun, no posing needed.

Golden Hour Portraits in the Sussex Fields

Just around the corner from The Bell, we headed into open fields for sunset portraits. The Sussex countryside bathed in golden light gave us some of the most beautiful, natural frames of the day. Walking hand in hand, laughing together, and soaking up a quiet moment between the madness — it was the perfect way to pause before heading back into the evening party.

Why The Bell is Perfect for Summer Weddings

What makes The Bell in Ticehurst so special is how flexible it is. It works for cosy winter weddings, but in summer the gardens and countryside views really shine. For Nick and Gemma, it was about blending style with laid-back fun:

  • Quirky interiors for intimate, characterful ceremonies
  • Gardens that spill naturally into the party vibe
  • Iconic Bell features like the LOVE sign for creative photos
  • Easy access to fields and countryside for portraits at golden hour

If you’re planning a summer wedding at The Bell, think of it as the perfect mix of pub garden charm and boutique elegance.
