RELAXED RIVERSIDE WEDDING AT GREENWICH YACHT CLUB

Relaxed, candid wedding photography at Greenwich Yacht Club, with Nathan & Jess’s riverside celebration after a ceremony at St Martin’s Church.

Some weddings feel like they come full circle. Nathan and Jess booked me after I photographed their friends Dolly and Sean’s Clapton Country Club wedding. They had seen me in action and trusted my relaxed, documentary approach. Their celebration began with a heartfelt ceremony at St Pauls Church Deptford. Afterwards, everyone travelled to Greenwich Yacht Club for a riverside reception with incredible views of the Thames. The day mixed tradition, laughter, and laid-back London energy perfectly.

Ceremony at St Paul’s Church, Deptford

Nathan and Jess began their day at The Parish Church of St Paul, Deptford. The church sits just off Deptford High Street and has a rich sense of history. The ceremony was heartfelt and personal, with family and friends filling the pews. Jess walked down the aisle with a smile that lit up the space. After the vows, guests spilled outside for confetti on the steps. The celebration already felt joyful and relaxed, setting the tone for the rest of the day.

Riverside Reception at Greenwich Yacht Club

After the ceremony, guests made their way to Greenwich Yacht Club. This venue feels like a hidden gem in East London. It sits right on the river, with sweeping views across the city. Drinks began outside on the deck, with friends catching up and children running around in the sunshine. Inside, the Yacht Club felt relaxed and full of character. Nathan and Jess had chosen simple, personal touches that reflected their style. As a result, the atmosphere was warm, colourful, and welcoming.

Evening by the Water

Golden hour at Greenwich Yacht Club is something special. We stepped outside for portraits by the water as the sun dropped. The Thames gave us calm reflections while London’s skyline glowed in the background. Later, the dance floor came alive. Music filled the room, and laughter carried well into the night. In fact, the evening showed how versatile East London weddings can be. They shift easily from calm riverside views to wild party energy.

Kind Words from Nathan and Jess

“We had the joy of having Dale photograph our wedding in August. Dale had photographed a friend’s wedding that we attended years ago, and we always knew when our big day came that he would be the man for the job. He certainly didn’t let us down.

Dale is a relaxed and seamless operator. He somehow works almost undetected, yet always with so much care and attention. As the Groom I was nervous at times. However, I found Dale a calming presence, always open to our ideas and suggestions. He brought his own flair too, and the images are ones we will keep forever.

When you’re looking for wedding suppliers, it can feel like a maze. Some people seem to hide extra costs or add-ons. Dale is different because his focus is on drawing out the love of the occasion. While I am sad my wedding is over, I am so grateful that our memories have been preserved so wonderfully. We couldn’t recommend Dale more.”
