Chloe and Jack’s wedding day was modern, colourful, and full of personality. They met on Twitter, got engaged on Blackheath, and planned a celebration that reflected their relaxed, contemporary style. As their East London wedding photographer, I knew the focus would be on genuine moments, not stiff poses — and that’s exactly how the day unfolded.
Clissold House Wedding Ceremony in Stoke Newington
The day began at Clissold House, an 18th-century mansion in Clissold Park. Bathed in September sunshine, the ceremony felt intimate and personal. Surrounded by family and friends, Chloe and Jack chose readings from Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton and When Harry Met Sally — heartfelt, funny, and a perfect reflection of their personalities.
Reception at Sager and Wilde, Bethnal Green
After the ceremony, guests jumped on a vintage double-decker bus for a true London experience. The reception took place at Sager and Wilde, a wine bar built into an old railway arch in Bethnal Green. Long tables and sharing plates made the dinner feel relaxed and social, while food and drink were at the heart of the celebration.
Stylish and Contemporary Wedding Details
The flowers were a vibrant mix of orange, pink, and green, tying the two venues together with a chic but playful vibe. Their stationery and décor carried a theme of rust, sand, and sage, while the guestbook was a set of polaroids signed by friends — a fun, personal alternative to tradition. From cake to confetti, every detail felt contemporary but timelessly London.
Dancing the Night Away
As the night went on, the dance floor filled with a mix of indie, garage, and 00s anthems. Guests laughed, toasted, and celebrated late into the evening. The combination of classic Clissold House and the urban energy of Sager and Wilde created a perfect East London wedding story.
