Greenwich Yacht Club Wedding Photographer London | Nathan & Jess

I’m Dale, a documentary wedding photographer based in East Sussex. Greenwich Yacht Club is one of those venues that surprises people — sitting right on the Thames with views across the London skyline that feel genuinely unexpected for a wedding. Nathan and Jess’s day here was one of my favourites.

No stiff poses, no awkward lineups. Just the two of them, their people, and the river doing its thing outside. I stay close to what’s happening and let the day tell its own story.

The Ceremony — St Paul’s Church, Deptford

St Paul’s is a proper London church — grand, historic, and full of the kind of light that makes a ceremony feel significant. Nathan was already at the front when Jess arrived, and the moment she walked in the room shifted. The pews were packed with people who had clearly been waiting for this for a long time. Vows, readings, the whole thing — heartfelt and personal without ever feeling staged. Outside on the steps afterwards, confetti, noise, and the street carrying on around them exactly as London does.

Riverside Reception at Greenwich Yacht Club

Greenwich Yacht Club sits right on the Thames and it feels genuinely surprising every time. Drinks on the deck with the river in front and the city skyline across the water — it’s one of those views that makes guests stop mid-conversation. Inside, Nathan and Jess had kept things simple and personal. Long tables, warm light, the kind of atmosphere that builds naturally when people are genuinely happy to be in the same room. No venue styling needed when the backdrop is doing that much work.

Evening by the Water

We slipped outside for portraits as the sun dropped — the Thames calm, the skyline catching the last of the light, London doing what London does at golden hour. Then back inside and the dancefloor filled immediately. Music, laughter, the room getting louder as the evening went on. Greenwich Yacht Club shifts completely after dark — from calm riverside reception to something considerably more energetic. Nathan and Jess’s crowd were ready for both.

Nathan + Jess

Relaxed, seamless, and so much care in every photo.

“We always knew when our big day came that Dale would be the man for the job and he didn’t let us down. He blended in seamlessly, brought a calm presence when nerves hit, and added his own creative flair to every shot. No hidden costs, no stress just genuine care and images we’ll treasure forever.”
