Today I want to share with you a unique wedding venue that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing at a lot recently – The Bell in Ticehurst. With its quirky, rustic charm, The Bell offers a gorgeous alternative wedding venue. Fully licensed for weddings, it’s packed full of curiosities, combining contemporary opulence with regency elegance.

An Alternative Wedding Venue in East Sussex

The Big Room is where they hold wedding ceremonies, with unusual woodland wallpaper, original fireplaces, golden mirrors and sparkling chandeliers. I know it’s recent additionas of fun, quirky neon signage have been a big hit with my couples. It can be dressed according to your style and theme, and makes the ideal backdrop for photos. Fill it full of fresh flowers, or keep it simple with a few candles to illuminate its distinctive décor.

You can also have exclusive use of the Snug, The Stable and Stable Bar, with flexibility around numbers, according to your guest list. They can accommodate up to 90 guests for a ceremony, and up to 120 for an evening party. However, if you’re looking for a small but perfectly formed celebration, their rooms are flexible enough to create an intimate wedding celebration for a minimum of 20 guests.

Perfect for a Party-Focused Wedding

One of my favourite things about The Bell? They love a party, having welcomed celebrations there for over 400 years. Each event is as unique as the people getting married, so they create bespoke weddings for each couple coming to celebrate with us. They have a dedicated wedding specialist who ensures every detail is perfect, and helps to bring together all the different elements, with insider knowledge of the best local suppliers, too.

Celebrating life, love and happiness, The Bell offers something a little bit different. They are very relaxed and informal, with a touch of tweed and country style and smatters of curiosity and rock n roll elements to boot. They have perfectly preserved the historic imperfections and added some charm and sparkle to The Bell, weaving in new layers to its story. If you’re looking for a unique wedding venue in East Sussex, The Bell is definitely one to consider!
