Manchester City Wedding at Hotel Gotham

Music, rooftops, and one very cool walk through town.
FROM LA TO SAN DIEGO, SANTA BARBARA & BEYOND…
A city wedding that felt like a secret mission
Some weddings just feel alive from the start. This one began in the bride’s family home, flowed through a church ceremony, and then spilled out into the streets of Manchester—confetti still in hair, heels already in hand.
We walked through the city like we owned it. No plan, no pressure. Just stopping where the light hit or the brick looked right. That’s the joy of a city wedding—you don’t need manicured gardens. You’ve got real life, real space, real texture.

Hotel Gotham: Moody, Stylish, Unmistakably Manchester
Hotel Gotham doesn’t try to be subtle. That’s why I love it. Art deco meets private club energy, tucked right into the middle of Manchester with skyline views and zero fuss. The couple had exclusive use of the upper floors—the private members’ club—for dinner and dancing. No other guests. No interruptions. Just good food, loud music, and a room full of people ready to go hard.
A Piano Song, a Rooftop Party, and a Room That Glowed
One of my favourite moments? The groom’s brother played a song he’d written on the piano. It wasn’t polished—it was personal. The kind of moment you can’t rehearse and wouldn’t want to. After that, the night took off. Toasts, dancing, a rooftop view of the city lit up behind them. One of those weddings where every room had its own energy. Every floor felt like a new chapter.

Manchester, You Were Magic
I shoot a lot of outdoor, countryside weddings—but when a city one hits, it really hits. Manchester gave us grit, energy, and soul. This couple brought the rest.
If you’re planning a Manchester city wedding—especially at Hotel Gotham—and want creative, relaxed photos that let the day unfold naturally, I’d love to hear from you.
