Colourful & Relaxed Hackney Town Hall Wedding Photography
Candid, colourful wedding photography at Hackney Town Hall in East London, with Frances & Jack’s vibrant celebration and reception at Royal Inn on the Park.
Frances & Jack’s Hackney Town Hall wedding was as colourful as it gets. A celebration bursting with bold flowers, vibrant details, and a laid-back London energy. Confetti flew on the iconic town hall steps… Guests jumped into a red London bus and rolled through the city streets to the Royal Inn on the Park, a cosy pub next to Victoria Park. It was the perfect mix of civic grandeur, Hackney character, and relaxed pub vibes. Everything I love about East London weddings.

Confetti on the Steps at Hackney Town Hall
Hackney Town Hall is one of my favourite London ceremony spots. Not just for its art-deco architecture but for the atmosphere on those steps. Frances & Jack walked out into a shower of confetti with buses, cyclists, and Hackney life carrying on all around them. That mix of everyday London and big, joyful celebration is what makes this venue so special to photograph. Guests cheered, laughed, and hugged in the sunshine. The colour of the flowers and outfits made the photos feel full of energy and life.

A London Bus Ride Through the City
After the ceremony, everyone piled onto a bright red Routemaster bus — the most iconic way to travel through London on your wedding day. The journey from Hackney Town Hall to the Royal Inn on the Park was a celebration in itself, with music, champagne, and plenty of laughter.
For me, it’s these in-between moments that matter most. For example, kids looking out of the windows, friends sharing a drink, and couples stealing a kiss. Together, these scenes tell the story of a wedding day just as much as the formal parts.
Reception at Royal Inn on the Park
The Royal Inn on the Park is a gem of an East London pub, set right beside Victoria Park. Frances & Jack’s reception was relaxed and full of character, with speeches that had everyone laughing and tables bursting with Rebel Rebel’s incredible flowers. The pub’s laid-back vibe matched the couple perfectly, and it gave guests plenty of space to catch up over pints, wander outside into the garden, and settle in for a night of dancing.
It’s the kind of setting that makes pub weddings so personal. As a result, the day feels unpretentious. A real slice of East London charm.
Colourful Details and Personal Style
What stood out about this day was how much of Frances & Jack’s personalities came through in the details. From Frances’s Halo & Wren dress and Charlotte Farmer’s vibrant hair styling to Jack’s sharp suit from Anglo Italian Company, everything felt thoughtful and true to them. Laura Anne’s makeup gave a natural, glowing look that carried through from the ceremony to the dance floor.
Rebel Rebel’s bold flowers tied everything together. In fact, the whole day was a riot of colour. This showed that relaxed weddings can also be stylish and full of flair.
