Guys Cliffe House Wedding | Festival-Style Outdoor Weddings in Warwickshire

A festival-style wedding at Guys Cliffe House in Warwickshire. Outdoor ceremony and live music under the stars.

Guys Cliffe House is unlike anywhere else I’ve photographed. With its rich history, gothic ruins, and otherworldly feel, it’s a venue that already carries stories in its walls. It’s also rumoured to be haunted and when you’re wandering its hidden grottos and dramatic stonework, you can feel that sense of mystery.

For Frankie and Tom, this was the perfect backdrop for their festival-style wedding. They wanted something relaxed, fun, and totally their own, and Guys Cliffe gave them all of that and more.

Outdoor Ceremony with a Personal Touch

The day began with a beautiful outdoor ceremony in front of the ruins. The couple surrounded by their closest family and friends. Instead of a traditional registrar, they chose a close friend to act as celebrant. Which made the ceremony feel deeply personal and heartfelt. There were plenty of laughs, a few tears, and an atmosphere that felt warm and un-staged… exactly how Frankie and Tom wanted it.

Drinks on the Lawns

After the ceremony, guests headed up to the lawns above the house for drinks. With sweeping views across the grounds and ruins in the distance, it felt like the start of a summer festival. Drinks flowed, groups gathered in pockets across the grass, and the whole afternoon carried that easy, unhurried rhythm that makes festival weddings so special.

A Festival Banquet in the Courtyard

When it was time to eat, everyone moved down into the courtyard and grottos of Guys Cliffe. Long tables were set for a banquet-style feast giving a proper festival wedding vibe. With music, laughter, and plenty of food and drink. The courtyard setting was perfect for this: enclosed by ancient walls but open to the sky, it felt both dramatic and intimate.

Dancing, Drinks, and Exploring the Venue

As the sun dropped lower, the party began. Frankie and Tom had music, drinks, and dancing late into the night, with guests spilling between the courtyard and grottos. Guys Cliffe is full of hidden corners, dramatic ruins, and little spaces that beg to be explored, so the evening had that sense of discovery and freedom you only get at festival-style weddings.

It’s not the kind of venue where you stay in one place. It invites you to wander, find new backdrops, and keep the day flowing. As a photographer, that’s a dream and every moment looks different.

Frankie and Tom’s day was proof that you don’t have to follow tradition… you can write your own script, involve your friends, and create something that feels like an extension of who you are.
