Editorial Wedding Photography at Elmore Court

Elmore Court is one of the most striking wedding venues in the Cotswolds. A historic country house with modern, design-led spaces and endless atmosphere. It’s the kind of venue that feels cinematic before you even lift a camera.

Juliet & Alex chose Elmore Court for their wedding because it matched their style perfectly: elegant but not fussy, full of character, and built for a party. Their day flowed seamlessly between timeless architecture, rolling lawns, and the contemporary Gillyflower reception space with plenty of moments in between for laughter, champagne, and everything that makes a wedding feel alive.

A Ceremony Full of Atmosphere

The house itself provides a backdrop with real weight with high ceilings, old wood, and that sense of history. For Juliet & Alex, it meant their vows felt both intimate and grand. As a photographer, Elmore Court’s ceremony spaces are a dream: soft natural light pours in, textures everywhere, and just enough space to move invisibly while still staying close to the emotion.

Nothing was over-staged. The couple wanted it to feel natural and real, and the setting made that easy.

The Flow of the Day

After confetti on the steps, guests spilled out across the lawns. This is where Elmore Court really shines: wide open views across the Cotswolds and plenty of space for people to mingle, drink, and soak up the atmosphere.

Meanwhile, Juliet got ready in one of the house’s elegant suites, with windows opening onto the grounds. There’s a certain editorial quality to those rooms with muted tones, natural light, and details that never fight the story. Every moment feels photographable.

The Gillyflower Reception

The Gillyflower is Elmore Court’s purpose-built reception space, and it’s a sharp contrast to the old house. Modern, raw, and flexible, it’s designed to hold serious parties. Juliet & Alex filled it with long tables, natural styling, and subtle lighting that came alive as the evening built.

It’s a space that feels almost like a blank canvas, but with its own strong personality. Editorial details like the florals, menus, and speeches all stand out against its pared-back aesthetic.

Editorial Portraits in the Grounds

One of my favourite parts of Elmore Court weddings is stepping away from the noise with the couple. Juliet & Alex took a walk across the fields, just the two of them. Horses grazed in the distance, the valley opened up, and it felt cinematic without trying.

These aren’t stiff portraits, they’re moments that breathe. A private first dance in the evening light, the two of them laughing as if no one else was there. Editorial in feel, but rooted in truth.

A Party Only Elmore Court Can Host

As night fell, the Gillyflower transformed. Music filled the space, drinks flowed, and the dance floor turned into organised chaos in the best way. Elmore Court has this ability to shift gears from timeless ceremony to modern party venue without losing its sense of identity.

For me as a photographer, that transition is gold. Big energy, bold colours, real moments that define a wedding.

As a photographer, it’s a dream space:

  • Natural light in every corner.
  • Character-rich backdrops inside and out.
  • The Gillyflower’s unique party energy.
  • Rolling grounds perfect for cinematic portraits.

Whether you’re planning something classic, modern, or a blend of both – Elmore Court adapts.
