Montague Farm in Sussex is built for festival-style weddings. Wide fields, rustic barns, camping spots for guests, and views across the rolling countryside. It’s perfect for couples who want their wedding to feel more like a festival: colourful, relaxed, and a little bit wild.

Getting Ready on site at Montague Farm

One of the best things about Montague Farm is that couples can get ready right on site. Ashleigh got ready in the bar area, a rustic space with exposed beams and countryside views.

Meanwhile, guests drifted between camping pitches and prep spots. One of the perks of Montague Farm is that everything’s in one place, but never feels crowded.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Montague Farm

The lawn ceremony had zero fuss. Guests wandered over drink in hand, found their seats under the summer sky, and the whole thing felt effortless.

As a photographer, I love venues like this where people relax so much they forget I’m even there with a camera.

Montague Farm Barn Wedding Reception

After the ceremony, everyone moved into the huge barn where long tables were covered with flowers and candles. The space turned into a festival garden. Giant Jenga on the grass, guests cooling off in the shade, and that easygoing buzz you only get when people feel free to roam.

First Dance at Montague Farm

Straight after the ceremony, Ashleigh & Dan stepped away for a private first dance overlooking the valley. It was raw, candid, and unforgettable

Ash + Dan

“Candid, joyful and full of love.”

“We didn’t want stiff, posed wedding photos — we just wanted to have fun and enjoy the day, and Dale absolutely nailed it. He captured all the emotion and laughter without ever intruding; so many guests said they hadn’t even realised he was there! A genuinely lovely guy who clearly loves what he does.”

Thinking About a Montague Farm Wedding?

Montague Farm is one of my favourite festival-style wedding venues in Sussex. If you’re planning a day here, or anywhere with fields, barns, and late-night dancing… I’d love to capture it.

Beams, stone walls, fairy lights and fields. I’ve photographed barn weddings all across Sussex, Kent & beyond, and each one has its own character. Here’s my guide to the best rustic barns.
